From overcoming plateaus to passing with confidence, here's what our students have to say.
Cecilia Clendenes, MD
US IMG
"I am incredibly grateful to Chi Okoye for her support and guidance throughout my Step 2 CK journey. Her teaching style is one of a kind; she has an exceptional ability to simplify even the most complex topics, especially in physiology and biostatistics. Cardiology was always intimidating for me, but Chi made it feel natural. She doesn't just teach content; she helps you build the right associations so that learning becomes intuitive and efficient.
Beyond academics, Chi was a pillar of emotional support during a very difficult time in my personal life. She was always kind, responsible, and encouraging. Her dedication helped me stay focused, and thanks to her, I achieved my target STEP 2 CK score, a result I'm truly proud of as an IMG.
Chi also helped me prepare for the OET Speaking sub-test, where I scored 440. She truly goes above and beyond for her students.
I highly recommend Chi as a tutor not only for Step 2 CK but also for Step 1 and OET. She's a phenomenal educator and a genuinely supportive person. I couldn't have done it without her!"

"Chi Okoye was highly recommended by my mentor for her tutoring prowess and she far exceeded my expectations. I struggled with understanding and applying physiology and Chi was able to break down the most difficult concepts into digestible bites. She explains the mechanisms of physiology and pathology in a plethora of ways. I really appreciated her teaching style because she allows her students the room to build logical conclusions and think through concepts. She is extremely passionate about what she does and that comes across in every aspect of the lesson. Chi will not give up on her students, she will explain a topic several different ways, using clever analogies and diagrams until a concept is understood. Chi is without a doubt one of the best if not the best tutor I have ever had. Your success as a student is her success.
I also sought Chi out during my dedicated period for step 2. I had a little less than a month left and I was scoring lower than I wanted on the practice exams, I hit a plateau. I was scoring mid 220s and I touched 230 once. But I was aiming for higher. For step 2 Chi worked with me mainly on what i needed at the time. We focused on my approach to some of the questions and material, and why what I chose wasn't the answer NBME was looking for. It was extremely helpful as she reassured me my logic wasn't too far off. And she helped me pinpoint where in the question I would find the right answer. It helped me regain my confidence, as I was getting nervous approaching the exam. I ended up scoring a 240 which was helpful! I was doing my clinical electives whilst studying for step 2 and that was difficult. But I am extremely grateful for Chi, as I believe she helped me at a crucial point."

"When I first came to Chi, my practice scores were below passing, and I honestly felt overwhelmed and unsure of how to improve. From day one, she was incredibly supportive and genuinely invested in my progress. What stood out to me the most was how available she always was, whether it was answering questions on chat or helping me work through concepts I kept getting wrong.
We took the time to identify my weak points one by one, and she helped me build a study plan that was tailored to how I learn. Her ability to break things down in a simple, structured way made such a huge difference, especially for topics I had struggled with. Biostatistics, for example, finally made sense because of the way she explained it.
My favorite part of the whole process was when we developed a question-reading strategy that actually worked for me. That alone changed the way I approached UWorld and NBME questions, and I started seeing improvement almost immediately. She wasn't just teaching me content but was teaching me how to think through Step-style questions confidently.
Looking back, her tutoring played a major role in me eventually reaching my target Step 2 score. I felt guided, and supported the entire way through. I truly couldn't have done it without her help, and I'm extremely grateful for the effort she put into my success."

"I don't know how I would have passed my second semester of medical school if it weren't for the help from Chi! For 3 weeks straight, she took time out from her own studies to tutor me on cardiac and respiratory physiology. She went through every slide provided in the lectures and did not jump into the next topic without making sure that I thoroughly understood the concept. Chi has a special approach to teaching and uses relatable examples to describe concepts while also ensuring that the student can visually conceptualize the topic. She has been an inspiration to so many students and I have personally recommended other students to schedule tutoring sessions with her. Chi is very patient, thorough and genuinely cares about the learning and understanding of the students she teaches."

"I'm not sure if I would have made it through my first semester of medical school without Chi. She is patient, thorough, knowledgeable and very passionate about teaching! She helped me set up a dedicated study plan for each subject, worked with me to identify my weaknesses and bridged my knowledge gaps. This helped me make the proper connections amongst the different disciplines. Most importantly, she made the content very enjoyable to learn and prepared me thoroughly for the USMLE Steps 1 & 2 CK. Thank you so much, Chi!"
